My name is Ruby. I am a User Experience Design Manager at ResMed. I’m originally from Hong Kong and grew up in Markham, ON. I received my Bachelor's in Industrial Design at Carleton University, Ottawa, ON.
Having moved and travelled quite a bit, I gained valuable life skills that have shaped me into the designer I am today. I learned to listen intently to what people say because that is how you discover their goals, desires, values, struggles, etc. I learned to drop what I think I know so that I can hear what the problems are. Through active listening, I gain compassion and empathy, which are crucial in designing solutions that work.
Skills: Running user and stakeholder interviews, field research, user observation, facilitating design workshops to ensure all points of view are acknowledged and considered, wireframing, rapid prototyping, mid/hi-fidelity designs

I enjoy: time with my family, running, OTF, F45, and practicing yoga.
